Byron heading to Maryland

Bruce met Byron and his son at House Café having breakfast.  Byron was on his way to sign the paperwork on sale of his house and then he and his son were going to hit the road with his move to Maryland. Byron would miss RERC but is very excited about his new adventure.

Hollis Owens proposed for membership

Hollis Owens has been proposed for membership of the Richardson East Rotary Club.

Hollis graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience from Washington and Lee University in Virginia and went on to get her Masters in Physical Therapy from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in 2000. She has worked primarily in the area of pediatrics for the past 18 years including experience in clinical research, inpatient, outpatient, home health, and school-based physical therapy. Hollis is the founder and Executive Director of a new nonprofit, To Be Like Me. The mission of To Be Like Me is to break down barriers and foster compassion in the hearts and minds of children.  Hollis is a lover of connecting people, finding gifts/talents in those she meets, and helping people find tools for success both in the classroom and out in the community. In addition, Hollis has four daughters who keep her busy with their own passions and a husband who supports and encourages her entrepreneurial spirit!

Hollis was a member of the committee for the Ann Eisemann Inclusive Playground along with the Richardson East Rotary and the City of Richardson. It was through working on this committee that she developed friendships with members of  the Richardson East Rotary Club. Rotary is near and dear to Hollis' heart because her late grandfather, Hollis Harold Leddy, was an active member of the San Angelo Rotary for many years. Hollis is excited and ready to start her own Rotary journey with the Richardson East Rotary Club.
