Karen is Principal of the International Leadership Texas High School at Arapaho and Shiloh in Garland.  She initially contacted us.  She is a Richardson resident looking to become involved in her community beyond her usual responsibilities at school.  I met with Karen at the school and explained what Rotary is about, shared the financial and engagement obligations, and got a sense of her desire to be involved.  She is very interested in getting an Interact Club going at ILTHS and is a likely candidate to take on the Youth Services position on our board, which has been vacant for some time.  The school motto, Others Before Self, compliments our Service Above Self.  She is energetic and excited about all Rotary represents.  Additionally, she has the full support of her employer.
