Amy Lewis Hofland is an accomplished leader with over two decades of experience in the museum and cultural sector. She excels in strategic growth, curatorial innovation, and community engagement, with a passion for bringing people together through art and nature. Amy’s visionary approach has been integral to transforming the Crow Museum of Asian Art at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) into one of the largest and most influential Asian art museums in the U.S. As Senior Director, Amy has expanded the museum’s global footprint, leading its growth into the fourth-largest Asian art museum in the country. She has played a key role in a 60,000-square-foot expansion, scheduled to open in 2024, positioning the museum as a cultural center for both UTD and the Dallas community. Under her leadership, the museum has built an international reputation for its award-winning educational programs and exhibitions that celebrate the contributions of Asia. Amy’s work was pivotal in the museum’s transition into the public trust when UTD acquired it in 2019. Collaborating with UTD leadership and the UT System, she helped structure a complex, multi-million-dollar donation to ensure the museum’s continued success. During her tenure, she oversaw the museum's expansion to over 100,000 annual visitors and significantly increased its donor base. She also guided the acquisition of 1800 works of art, enriching the museum’s collection and educational offerings. Amy has helped establish the Crow Museum as a hub for community outreach and intercultural education, fostering collaboration across diverse communities and championing diversity and inclusion. Her leadership extends beyond the museum: she has chaired the boards of the Dallas Arts District and St. John’s Episcopal School, is the incoming chair of the Advisory Board for the College of Fine Arts at the University of Texas at Austin, and currently serves as the Treasurer of Downtown Dallas, Inc. |
