School supply drive
This Wednesday 7/31, RERC is stepping up to aid our District 5810’s school supply drive for Costa Maya, Mexico.  Our members will supply the manpower to pack boxes that will be delivered in January during the District cruise.  Here’s what is to expect:
  • Meet at Network as usual, but no lunch provided.
  • If you have already purchased some school supplies, bring them.
  • If not, no worries.  Our club is focusing on construction paper and crayons and there will be plenty to pack, thanks to RERC Foundation.
  • There will be 24 12x12x12 inch boxes to fill.
  • An exact count of items in each box must be kept for Customs.
  • Each box will be half filled with shoes (provided).
  • Tasks include box building, shoe distribution, box packing, inventory & count of items in box, certificate of lading completed, box taping.
  • In meaningful RERC tradition - We Will Make It Happen and It Will Be Fun!
If you want to be a part of seeing where your effort ends up, you only need to sign up to take the cruise.  It is a fun and affordable!!!  www.rotary5810.org/event/district-conference-cruise-2
Sensory Garden Maintenance August 2nd

Our club will be having a garden maintenance session at 8:00am on Friday August 2nd. Just to give a brief history of the Richardson east rotary club’s Sensory garden.  It was created as part of the club’s prior Strategic Plan that helped create and build the Ann Eisemann Inclusive Playground at Cottonwood Park in 2019.  We are responsible for its upkeep.

There is a large stone plaque within the garden which highlights our efforts. The garden is called sensory…because all the plants within it are chosen to be non-poisonous and safe for touching and enjoyment. Please come help us with this club service project.  Bring your garden tools, large shovels and gloves, if possible.
