Sam Owori is selected as 2018-19 Rotary President
Samuel Frobisher Owori, of the Rotary Club of Kampala, Uganda, is the choice of the nominating committee to be the president of Rotary International in 2018-19. He will be declared the president-nominee on 1 October if no challenging candidates have been suggested. 
District Governor Bill Dendy visits our club
District governor Bill Dendy visited RERC and talked about his vision for the 2016-2017 Rotary year. He spent a fair amount of time promoting the district's new website which has undergone a big face lift. The website promotes the district and the clubs and will be a great portal for prospective members and people who want to get involved with Rotary.

Scholarship recipient Sydney visits our club
Sydney Blaschke our scholarship recipient and Sneed's granddaughter visited our club to thank us for her scholarship. Sydney will graduate from Berkner and will attend Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton.

​​​​​​​Supporting students with disabilities in Korea

The Rotary Clubs of Andong-Central, in Gyeongsangbug, Korea, and Tsaotun Central in Taiwan teamed to develop a training project for students in Korea with autism and intellectual and emotional disabilities. The students learn crop cultivation, starting with the basics of growing lettuce indoors, then learning how to package and move crops, and, finally, how to sell vegetables to businesses around Andong. The project was supported by a $32,500 global grant from The Rotary Foundation. Read more.

Changes for the new Rotary year

In April, Rotary members from around the world met at the Council on Legislation, taking action to grant clubs greater flexibility in their meeting schedule and membership. These changes took effect 1 July.
