Wednesday, January 22 was an important milestone in the history of our Club as we celebrated the charter of our first Interact Club at Rotarian Karen Marx's International Leadership Texas High School (ILTGHS)! Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Interact clubs organize at least two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Rotary club sponsors mentor and guide Interactors as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills. The serendipity here is that Rotary's motto is Service Above Self, and ILTGHS's is Others Before Self. Going forward, we have the wonderful opportunity to mentor, motivate, develop confidence, and encourage a new generation of leaders and hopefully future Rotarians. Richardson East Rotary Club - Making It Happen for future generations!
