Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I was born in Plainville, Kansas. My father was a petroleum engineer and worked for Conoco. My family moved around a lot as is common among oil families. I lived in Oklahoma City 3 times, Ardmore, Oklahoma, Great Bend, Kansas, Ventura, California and ended up in Casper, Wyoming before moving to Waco, Texas to attend Baylor University. I met my wife at Baylor my freshman year. We have two boys, now 34 and 30, with our first grandchild on the way. I have been in the banking business in Dallas since 1984 and have been employed with Texas Republic Bank for nearly 10 years.
What do you do in your job and what do you love about it?
I am currently the Richardson Market President and office at the corner of Campbell and Floyd. My primary duties are to develop new business relationships, generate new loan opportunities, and become involved in the community. The thing I like most about my job is helping people realize their dreams.
What inspired you to join Rotary?
I joined Rotary at the encouragement of the Bank President, David Baty, a long time Richardson Banker. He felt that Rotary would help me get integrated into the Richardson community and participate in the community service projects.
What is your favorite restaurant or small business in Richardson?
My favorite restaurant (I'm not sure it actually classifies as a restaurant) is Tongue and Cheek.
