Stories
Dear RERC members. As part of the work of making RERC an even awesomer :-D club we will be conducting a survey shortly. The survey will identify your level of satisfaction with our meetings, our club in general and how we can improve. The survey will be conducted via Survey monkey and it is very important that you raise your opinion for our future improvements.

Look out for an email with the link to the survey shortly. Note that the survey allows members to be anonymous if desired.

Dear RERC members. Please note that there is a new "widget" added to the website and bulletin. Currently there are 4 pages added: Community Awards, Small Groups Fall 2014, Scholarships 2015 and RERC Buddy introductions. These pages give us a better possibility of grouping "longer lasting" items together on our website. On the scholarships page we will keep track of our scholarship recipients and have the ability to direct applicants for more information. The buddy pages is a new addition to our web site and I am asking all of you to write a story about your Rotary buddy (by interviewing them), first out is Wendall with his introduction of Faye. In the Small Groups section we will keep the stories from the small groups as well as pictures.

Imagine a community where the residents are all free to plant, grow, harvest, and eat healthy food whenever they want without having to pay for it. That’s exactly what residents of more than 20 cities and towns in France are doing through a project called Potalib, launched by the Rotaract Club of Versailles. It’s just one example of how Rotary’s programs for young people develop leaders.

RERC     RERC continues the succesful concept of small groups for 2014.

Below are the expectations for the groups:

  • Meet anytime between August 6th and November 15th 2014
  • First person on the list is the chairman of the group
  • Each group will create two themed basket for Casino Night one valued to at least $100 and one $75
  • Basket to be turned into D. Schieferstein by December 1st 2014
  • Groups need to meet as a unit and take a photo - sent to Tom Brooks for publication on the website etc.
  • Group gathering can be for theater, dinner, drinks, volunteer event etc.
  • Group plans need to be reported to Mary Bedosky at maryb@bartech.net

A Club That Plays Together, Stays Together.
Such was the case with the club outing at Lake Cypress Springs, hosted by President Kathy Higgins and husband, Randall. They opened their lake house to the club, along with their pontoon boat and two jet skis, all of which were put to good use. We ate barbecue and then "Captain Randall" took two groups on his SS Minnow for "a three-hour tour... a three-hour tour." Randall knows his way around, so we were never in danger of being stranded on Gilligan's Island. Pictured in this shot are "Ginger and Mary Ann" (aka Helen Blanchard and Julia Brooks) along with David Blanchard, as they approach the Higgins' boat house. For more shots of the event, click here.
