The membership committee approved 4 new members and the board voted unanimously to welcome them to our club. Their bios are below. One new member will be the Richardson Family YMCA, a local organization. While a first for RERC, extending membership to local community partners is a strategy employed by other Rotary Clubs. YMCA staff leadership will serve as Club representatives, with a select staff representative attending each meeting. We look forward to "piloting" this within our Club as a way to build deeper relationships with our community partners.

Career: Retired teacher, taught at Richardson Jr. High and Berkner High School
Organizations: President of Richland Neighborhood Association, Treasurer of WIN (Women in Network), Richardson Retired teacher Association, Richardson Newcomers, Leadership Richardson Class of 37, Leadership Richardson Alumni Association, CARES, currently enrolled in Citizen Fire Academy.
Personal: Married with three grown daughters and five granddaughters. They all live in Austin, stayed after graduating from UT Austin Texas
Interests: Love to read, travel and tend to my garden and flowers.
My name is Lin Adi, I was born in Syria and spent my years studying between there and France. I went to a university in Syria where I studied French Literature and Finance. After graduation I entered the banking industry where I started building and developing my career. In my final years in Syria before the war, I worked as a loan officer for an international bank where I learned an abundance of knowledge about credit.
After the war broke out in Syria, I left and I came to the U.S and stayed with my older brother in Minnesota. There, I worked at Wells Fargo for about 7 years where I further expanded my knowledge and familiarized myself with the American system of banking. With all my previous knowledge combined with my newly learned ones, I excelled in my career and kept moving higher in positions. I moved into business banking and became very skilled and familiar with ways to establish and build credit for businesses to help them succeed. After I was fed up with the cold weather and snow, I decided to move to Texas 4 years ago.
In Texas I landed a job with Credit Union of Texas where it was my job to engage the community and help teach them about financial literacy.
I’m a proud mother who came to the US with a 9 years old boy who became now a pre-med student at SMU and planning to be a plastic surgeon.
Stacey worked in the United Kingdom for several prominent law firms assisting large corporations and financial institutions. She also volunteered her legal services with the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Immigration Legal Assistance Project, which provides low cost immigration services to those in need.
Originally from Massachusetts, Stacey has lived in the Dallas area for 7 years and has made North Texas her home. She is a Leadership Richardson Class 37 alum, as well as a Tri-Chair for the Richardson Chamber of Commerce Workforce Development Committee. She volunteers her time helping with various educational programs throughout the school year, including RISD iDream and the Richardson Mayor Summer Internship Program. When she’s not working or volunteering in the community, Stacey enjoys time entertaining at home as well as traveling with her husband of 15 years, Paul, and their 2 young girls, Sophie & Gemma.
In 1963 The YMCA was established in Richardson. The Richardson YMCA is an integral part of the community, serving over 10,000 children annually. The Youth and Government Program offers hands on experience for around 60 teens as they learn the importance of community and leadership. For the past two years the Richardson Y has partnered with local churches and service organizations to provide an outreach soccer program for nearly 400 kids, who otherwise would not have the means to play organized soccer. The Richardson Y is focused on continuing to serve the needs of children and families in their community. The Richardson YMCA will be represented by Samantha Buehler and Jordan Starr.
