If a month has five Wednesdays, we participate in a service project instead of having a formal club meeting. This week we will spend time working to freshen up the Sensory Garden at the Ann Eisemann Inclusive Playground at Cottonwood Park.  Please join us this Wednesday, August 31 from 9 to 10am and help support this important project.

If you are a recent addition to our Club, you may wonder what is the Sensory Garden and why do we help the City of Richardson maintain it?

The Sensory Garden is a part of our club's inclusive playground “Signature Project", which started in 2015. An inclusive playground allows children and adults of all abilities to enjoy its many decks, climbing equipment and slides by providing an extensive wheelchair ramp system and rubber safety surface.

The Sensory Garden is situated at the entrance to the playground.  All of the plants are specially selected so that children and adults can enjoy them close-up and even touch them without the risk of harm or injury.  As a sign of our support for the project, club members continue to maintain the garden with much appreciated help from the Richardson Parks & Recreation Department.
