Gary Tittle proposed for membership

Gary Title grew up in the Richardson area. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University and a Master’s in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University. He is a graduate of the FBI’s National Academy and the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police.

Assistant Chief Gary L. Tittle began his career with the Richardson Police Department in March 2018 as a Captain. Prior to that time, Gary spent over 30 years with the Dallas Police Department where he held every rank through Assistant Chief. During his Dallas tenure, Assistant Chief Tittle was responsible for numerous work groups to include the Strategic Deployment Bureau, which includes SWAT, Traffic, Love Field, Gang and the Criminal Intelligence Unit. He also oversaw the Patrol Bureau and Narcotics Bureau. In 2019, during the 86th Texas Legislative Session, Gary represented the Chief of Police regarding criminal justice related matters, a role he has fulfilled both in Dallas and Richardson since 2007. Assistant Chief Tittle now commands the Operations Bureau to include the Investigations Division and Patrol Division.

Gary is looking for ways to become even more connected to the community, and is a member of the current LR class, where I believe he is known as “Goodness Gary. ”

Our Little Roses Hit Hard!
Our Little Roses Needs Help!

The 2020 Atlantic hurricane season was one for the record books.  Eta was the 28th named storm of 2020. Unfortunately, Eta ran over the top of San Pedro Sula, Honduras and hit Our Little Roses (OLR) home and school hard.   If Eta wasn’t enough, Hurricane Iota, is bearing down on them as the knockout punch. Stay tuned because this one is supposed to deliver heavy rains into an already saturated landscape.

As a club, Richardson East Rotary Club has been committed  to supporting several of the girls at the home. One of our club's members, Doug. has been a part of OLR for 9 years. His wife, Cassie, has been working with the girls for almost 20 years.  Cassie has seen many girls who were brought to the home as 7 and 8 year olds now married and successfully employed. It is an amazing home that gives girls who are homeless, abandoned or abused, everything they need to feel safe and become healthy: shelter, food, education, and a connection to church.  OLR gives them hope.  For more information on OLR please visit their web site

Even though the hurricane ravaged the country of Honduras, OLR survived unscathed.  Their compound that was built with donations from all over the USA was able to withstand flooding and hurricane force winds.  The girls are all safe.  In fact they continued their education, their activities and their church even though their compound was completely surrounded by water. They literally lived on an island for 5 days.

Life at OLR is certainly not back to normal, however, as many of the Tias (ladies who help with the daily activities in the home) lost their homes and possessions.  There is a 2nd story at the home that consists of housing for the "transition girls".  These are girls who have graduated from high school and are either starting their first job or attending the university.  Currently many of the Tias are staying in these housing units while they wait for the waters to recede. Hopefully they will have something to go back to!!

Any donations will help the home, specifically the workers, their families, and the Tias.

One hundred percent of your donation will go to the disaster relief for Our Little Roses.
