Our History

The Richardson East Rotary Club was chartered September of 1985.  The original membership of 23 individuals quickly began enriching the local community with volunteerism and Service Projects. The first two service projects were: installation of playground equipment at the YMCA and the Leadership Grove on the City Hall property.

In the 1995 RERC  hosted the first Casino Night fund raiser. This event continues to this day as Games & Gala and  has allowed the sponsorship of college scholarships, over $54,000,  to RISD students, nearly $87,000 for International Service projects, and nearly $50,000 for local community service projects along with other charitable causes. The RERC is proud to host the yearly Games & Gala  event and deeply honored to be able to touch the lives of so many locally and around the world.

It has been a short history, but RERC is prideful of the support it has given to the Rotary Foundation. Since 1985, RERC is always willing to honor the traditions established by Paul Harris and to extol the mottos of "Service Above Self and "They Profit Most Who Serve Best". Richardson East Rotary Club, the standard setter for Service Clubs!
