On 5/19 we had the pleasure of honoring 2 outstanding teachers, Erin Behunin and Yongluan Ye from the International Leadership of Texas school in Garland. Dr. Chris Goodson, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, provided the introduction and highlighted the incredible value that the teachers bring to the children they teach.

Congratulations Ye and Erin!
Richardson East Rotary Club and Friends provided some necessary TLC to the sensory garden at the Ann Eisemann Inclusive playground. With all the participants, and the pre-work by the City of Richardson's park department, the work was quickly completed. The garden is now beautiful and ready for spring and summer! Richardson East Rotary Club's first virtual Games and Gala – Big Success!

On February 27th, Richardson East Rotary Club held its Games and Gala, the first ever virtual! When planning started back in July 2020, there was still a chance to hold an in-person event, however rather quickly it was apparent that it would be very questionable and therefore all efforts were put into a virtual event.

As the planning proceeded, the response from the sponsors, the Richardson community, Rotarians, and friends of Rotarians was tremendous. Sponsorships exceeded the budgeted amount for the event and the silent auction proceeds from the on-line bidding exceeded expectations. The icing on the cake is also that with a virtual event being at a lower cost level, more money will be left to support deserving students with scholarships.

Games and Gala emcee Tom Hummel and RERC president Mary Bedosky lead the event on 2/27/2021

Listen to Keith Kockler interviewing Cooper Brown, RERC scholarship recipient 2020. Learn more about Cooper and what classes he liked in high school, what the scholarship means to him and what service projects he likes.
